Day Trip to Seward
9 hours
Something
for everyone, this is a round-trip from Anchorage to Seward, along one
of the state’s most scenic roads, the Seward Highway. Includes four
hours in coastal Seward on your own. After a city tour to get
oriented, you might decide to visit the Seward Sealife Center, depart
on a salmon charter or glacier cruise — or just enjoy some sightseeing
and wonderful food.
Scenic
Seward Highway: Have your camera handy. The fun starts with stops
at Bird Point and Big Game Alaska, and other photo stops along the way.
Be on the lookout for belugas, Dall’s sheep and bald eagles along
the way.
Big
Game Alaska Wildlife Care and Rehabilitation: View wildlife among
natural surroundings. Located on 140 acres of Alaska wilderness, Big Game
Alaska Wildlife Center opened to the public in 1993. Injured or orphaned
animals are regularly brought to the wildlife center for care, including
Adonis the Bald Eagle, who lost a wing to a gunshot wound, and Zach, a
1-year-old black bear brought to the center as a cub. Big Game Alaska
also houses moose, deer, grizzly bear, owls, bison, musk oxen and a variety
of game birds.
Traditional
Blessing: The 8-hour tour includes a Traditional Blessing with
authentic regalia, presentation and blessing ceremony.
All tours are for small parties, up to 26 people. Please call or
e-mail for rates. Driver gratuity not included.
