From Whittier to Anchorage:
A pickup time of 8:45 am will get us to the 9:15 tunnel entry at Portage
Glacier visitor Center.
10:00 a.m. - depart for the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (www.alaskawildlife.org).
10:50 a.m.- depart for Anchorage with stop at Bird Point for photos.
Anchorage stops will include:
Ship Creek: The Ulu Factory (Eskimo knives factory tour) and watching
the downtown fishermen fishing for salmon.
Ship Creek Hatchery: Photo stop. Watch the salmon trying to jump up Ship
creek falls. (Time allowed: 30 minutes).
Drop-off for lunch (1 hour)- :
Downtown - Snow Goose restaurant. Depending on weather,
you may sit inside or on one of the outside decks overlooking the port
of Anchorage and Alaska Railroad Depot.
Midtown - Sourdough Mining Co., next to Alaska Wild Berry
Products chocolate and gift shop, which has one of the largest chocolate
falls in the world.
2:30 pm - Drop off Anchorage/Whittier
1:45 PM - Ship dock
*Anchorage to Whittier: You set the departure
time for your Hotel or Airport pickup with the above stops reversed, or
you may choose other stops fitting the time frame.

Alaska Native Heritage Center:
Allowed 1-2 hours, $23.50 per person entrance fee.
Anchorage Museum of History and Art (time allowed 1 hour).
$10.00 per person.
Hood Lake/Earthquake Park photo stop (1 hour). Watch
floatplanes take off and land at America's busiest seaplane base, with
more than 1,000 takeoffs per day in the summer. With a stop at nearby
Earthquake Park.
Alaska Aviation Museum:
Visit Alaska Aviation history; and test your flying skills with the flight
simulator! Additional 1 hour, $10 each.
Flat Top Mountain: (1 hour) Visit the trailhead of Flat
Top Mountain for alpine settings and a panoramic view of the whole city
and Inlet.
Anchorage Botanical Gardens: (1 hour). Take a leisurely
walk through beautifully cultivated gardens of Alaska's own flowers and
plants combined with natural forested walkways.
Eklutna Village: (2 hours) Visit the Old Russian church
and learn how Russians changed the burial habits of the Athabaskan people.
Downtown City Outdoor Market: Outdoor marketplace with
food vendors and many booths displaying arts and crafts. Weekend only!

Mat Su (Matanuska-Susitna Valleys):
Wasilla / Palmer (3 hours)
Iditarod Headquarters and $10 dog team ride, with a stop at Eklutna Village
on the way
Musk Ox farm (time from Anchorage 1 hour/ farm tour 45
minutes) $10 each.
Reindeer farm (1 hour) tour price around $10 each.
Hatcher Pass Placer Mine tour (1-1/2 hour from Anchorage,
2-3 hours there) Go through the old mine buildings and take a drive up
to the top by the lakes (good place to take a picnic basket lunch and
a couple bottles of wine) -- or lunch at the Hatcher Pass lodge.
Matanuska Glacier (3 hours from Anchorage; 1-2 hours
there) -One of the largest and most accessible glaciers on the road system.
Your tour includes an escorted hiking trip on the glacier with trained
staff there. Palmer lunch/museum stop.
